A tragic explosion occurred at a private firecracker manufacturing facility located in Vetrilaiyurani village, within the Sivakasi taluk of Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu. The incident took place around 8:45 a.m., resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to five others.
The victim has been identified as Balagurusamy, aged 50.
In response to the incident, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has instructed that the injured receive immediate and advanced medical treatment. He also announced financial aid from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, which includes Rs 4 lakhs for the family of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh for those seriously injured, and Rs 50,000 for individuals with minor injuries.
Fatal Car Accident in Himachal Pradesh
In a separate incident, four individuals lost their lives and one was seriously injured when a car veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Rahni Nala, close to Rohtang Pass in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday, as confirmed by police officials.
According to DSP Manali KD Sharma, there were five people in the vehicle at the time of the accident. "Four persons died on the spot, while one has sustained serious injuries," he reported.
Rescue operations are currently in progress, with efforts focused on retrieving the bodies and providing medical assistance to the injured individual. The identities of the deceased are still being verified.
